STERET is an experimental band made up of electronic sounds. They were founded in New Hope, Minnesota in 2007 by two friends, Lance & Andrew. Lance goes by the stage name caBooSe, while Andrew goes by the stage name of kOZ. When the band first came together, they recorded a couple of fun songs with keyboards while singing. Shortly after, they discovered a program called FL Studio and began to play around with it. Their first official song was released, “Never Ever Land”. This was a hit amongst the small fan base of friends that had formed. After the release of ‘Never Ever Land’ there was a slight pause on STERET, and they didn’t make any music for months. After this pause, they recorded and released their second song, ‘Nightmare’. As of again, Nightmare went well with their small fan base, and STERET decided that they would put together an E.P. STERET came through with this plan and they released the “OPEN YOUR MOUTH (E.P.) on March 15th, 2008. With the release of their E.P. they decided to have a concert to try and help promote it. This concert was held in kOZ’s living room, and went very well. With the success of their first show, they decided to book their second show. The second show was held at Cooper High School on April 16th, 2008. At the show, most of STERET’s equipment ended up breaking and the show went pretty horrible from there on out. With the failure of the show, STERET went on another pause. After a long while, STERET released the song titled, “BITCH”. This song wasn’t released to say that STERET was back in action, but just to tell everyone STERET was not dead.
