background / biography
Does music come from inspiration, or pain? Experience, or imagination? Pride, or protest? From the moment 18-year-old Justin Anderson first picked up a guitar, he was faced with these questions and more. Instead of finding an answer, however, he lets his music speak for itself. Though he has less than three years of songwriting experience under his belt, Justin has already written dozens of songs. Acoustic music is his calling; he admires both its beauty and its “therapeutic” abilities, as he explains: “I write acoustic because I know at one point or another everyone gets in a depressed mood.... [A]coustic ballads always helped me ... so I want to write as many as I can to help [other] people.” Justin also has some experience in songwriting with other artists; he and his former band mate, Dan Lawrence (who has written material of his own, which can be heard at http://www.myspace.com/danlawrence1, composed several songs together as “Natural Rejection” before pursuing other projects. Justin claims the experience was “invaluable” to his current work. He's just getting started, but Justin Anderson already has the raw talent as a guitarist and a lyricist to excel in a world where good music is often taken for granted. Inspired by artists like Unloco, Cold, and Memento, Justin combines passion with a voice of experience, producing songs with a dynamic sound and depth that is missing in much of today's music.
