BIOGRAPHY

The High Crimes combine a driving rock and roll sound with pop hooks and catchy three part harmonies. Heavily rooted in the Minneapolis music scene The High Crimes have toured extensively throughout the upper-mid west. Their exploits have won them feature mention on 89.3 The Current and awards from Soup Music Co.

Their sound is book ended by two veteran guitar players seamlessly weaving in and out of solo and rhythm roles. Miles Adams as “guitar left” brings his background in jazz studies at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and his history with successful rock group Modern Society to bear on the stage.

Complimenting Miles as “guitar right” is Riggs Kessler. A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts with a degree in arranging and performance, Riggs brings a professional dynamic to the song writing process that has been developing ever since these two began playing and writing together early in high school. With The High Crimes, Miles and Riggs are now able to showcase an interplay that only comes from a long history of playing music together.

Add to this mix drummer, Jon Bigham. Hailing all the way from Dallas, Texas, Jon spent several years playing with Miles in Modern Society before taking some time to play and record with local Minneapolis act Bone Orchard. With the assembly of The High Crimes, Jon has rejoined forces with Miles to lay the foundation for a group with palpable communication both in their stage act and in their collaborative song writing.

Laying down low end with a meticulous precision and attention to detail that can only come from someone driven enough to also garner a B.S./M.S. in chemical engineering is Seth Levine. His bass lines have been honed throughout twelve years of self study and a residency with prog rock group Cadence Continuum. Since being recruited by The High Crimes, Seth has lent to the band his exacting yet fluid style on four string, five string and frettless bass with great success.

Over the top of this solid foundation is the baritone voice of Ben Marker. After fronting the Guapotones out of Lincoln, Nebraska for the past seven years, he relocated to Minneapolis to join forces with The High Crimes. Ben’s long history in musical theater and extensive vocal training coupled with his ability to pen lyrics both poignant and witty round out this groups ability to write cohesive, accessible material.

The High Crimes, a collaboration of seasoned musical performers bring a synergy to the stage that can only be described as Killer Rock n’ Roll.
